In Wooden Nickels: CG has to live with two people his freshman year.

  • College Survivors: How many roommates did you live with at a time and would you have rather lived alone?
  • College Dreamers: How many roommates would you want in college?

JamTown’s Response:

Going in to college, I wanted to have a least one roommate in college. It would have been too boring to live alone. My first two years of college, I got my wish. I had one roommate each year. I was very happy with that number because I didn’t want to live with too many personalities right off the bat. I wanted to settle into college life without having to worry about a bunch of crazies I had to come home to. The last two years of school, I had three roommates. That caused for a lot more action, adventure, and arguments, but it wasn’t the end of the world. I liked the girls I lived with and I learned how to deal with their personalities and habits just like I’m sure they had to get adjusted to mine.

So what’s your story?

My freshman, sophomore, and junior year, I only had one roommate. I don’t think I could have dealt with more than that. My senior year, I lived by myself for the majority of the year. I got a roommate halfway through the last semester, but she wasn’t too bad. Very nice and quiet.

I am still attending college but I have 3 roommates right now and I know up until graduation that I will always have 3 roommates. It started with just me and Sarah but then Jenni came to the school and was roomed with us. We try to make life easier for all of us and clean up after ourselves, clean the dishes we dirty and we respect each others space and things. I was blessed to have 2 good roomies, even though it is a bit crouded but what can we do? we’re doing the best we can.
