So I’ve been thinking of how I can mix up these Wooden Nickels vlogs because it can get pretty tough coordinating with people’s schedules to release a new one every week. My solution is to do my own college advice/how-to/tutorial type videos. Examples: how to format a resume, how to write an admissions essay, how to not gain the freshman 15…I don’t know.
These are things that people need to know! I gained the freshman 15 + some…and I’ve seen some pretty horrible resumes that were sent to my friend who is hiring at the restaurant where he is sous chef. Why is it that people who are 30 years old still don’t know how to write a resume or follow the instructions of a job application? Because they’ve been waiting for me to tell them. That’s why
I’m obviously on another break. I have a huge deadline and I need to focus! Blogging and vlogging are alot of work! But you can talk to me over on twitter.
I had the wonderful opportunity to interview someone I truly admire, R. Michael Thomas of www.thafeedback.com. Get to know someone who entertains people around the world everyday and who has a deep, dark college secret from his past.
I’m in the middle of uploading this week’s vlog and it’s taking a little bit longer than I thought because it’s a Skype interview. In the meantime, let’s talk about school son (because they’re randomly on my mind). USC has a number of songs that are hard to keep up with…the fight song, the alma mater song, the other 5 fight songs….
I’m a little ashamed to say that I don’t know. I don’t think I know the words to the school song. Maybe there aren’t words to the school song. Let’s see….
…after doing some Google research, I found out that “All Hail” is the school song and was written for the finale of a student show. Here it is being performed by the SoCal Vocals, a popular a capella group on campus. It’s the first song. The second one is “Tusk”, one of USC’s many fight songs (Bruins cover your ears for that one). Maybe someday I’ll learn the words. What about you? Do you know the words to your school song? Have you even heard it before?
My week-long absence from you is only because my amazing family spent Christmas with me in Los Angeles. Every day that they have been here has been brimming over with excitement and go-go-going. I can’t believe it’s already time for them to leave and I’m finding it even harder to believe that it’s time to say goodbye to 2009.
